Leek, The Netherlands (28 May 2025) – ROE Visual proudly served as a key technology partner for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025, delivering high-performance LED display solutions that helped shape one of the most spectacular and complex stage environments in live broadcasts today. The event, hosted at St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland, and organized by SRG SSR and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), reached over 200 million global viewers over three dazzling shows that blended performance, storytelling and broadcast innovation.

As part of a long-standing partnership, Creative Technology once again selected a comprehensive suite of ROE Visual LED products for this high-profile project. Trusted for their exceptional performance and reliability, the chosen setup included:

These technologies formed the visual backbone of the show, supporting creative flexibility while meeting the rigorous demands of large-scale live productions.

Engineering Precision and Seamless Execution
Creative Technology deployed Graphite 2.6 panels for the stage's large front portal, one of the key scenic elements. These lightweight LED panels, delivering crisp visuals, offered the perfect solution to build this challenging set element.

The Black Marble BM4 LED floor was used to dramatic effect across the complete stage surface, combining high-resolution imagery with robust operation under the exacting demands of live performance.

The transparent Vanish V8T screens were used to create layered content, revealing lighting and effects from behind and adding new creative possibilities for the lighting and video teams.

A Stage Inspired by Nature, Engineered for Impact
Designed by renowned production designer Florian Wieder, the 2025 Eurovision stage drew inspiration from Switzerland's iconic mountainous landscapes. Sculptural scenic elements were paired with advanced LED integration. Playing into the demands of the production, that needed a platform that could seamlessly support diverse artistic visions — from delicate acoustic performances to full-scale pop spectacles — all within tight changeover times and live broadcast constraints.

The complete stage setup consisted of a massive portal frame, a stage, lighting bridges, and a stage backdrop. The upstage featured mountains, a giant screen, and a light grid, creating the impression that the backstage was opening up to the audience.

The multi-layered stage background was built using ROE Visual's Vanish V8T panels, which introduced dynamic transparency and layering effects. This setup enabled the LED screen to blend seamlessly with the lighting and projections, creating added depth and dimensionality on stage.

"The huge background LED screen is a transparent product. We chose the ROE Visual's Vanish 8 because it's one of the best solutions available for transparent LED," says Florian Wieder, Production Designer.

Lighting Designer Tim Routledge highlights the creative flexibility this enabled:
"Using the semi-transparent, 8.9mm pixel pitch screen allowed us to visually 'hide' the screen, letting all the light from behind shine through and turning the surface into a three-dimensional element. We did a lot of things where we are driving content through the light with pixel maps with an entire wave of light using video content - it opened up a whole new range of creative possibilities within the lighting design."
