UNIT1 Studio’s Groundbreaking Virtual Concert Showcase
ROE Visual is proud to have supported the launch of Unit1 Studio, the first independent end-to-end producer of avatar concerts and immersive music events. For the studio’s debut showcase, featuring a digital performance by Grammy nominated artist KT Tunstall, ROE Visual supplied a high-quality LED screen that delivered exceptional visual accuracy and clarity.
Unit1 Studio brings together leading creative and technical talent from the worlds of live music, theatre, film, and gaming to redefine how audiences experience performance. The showcase demonstrates how advanced CGI, performance capture and real time rendering can combine to create realistic and emotionally engaging music experiences for fans.
The immersive entertainment market is forecast to reach 442 billion US dollars by 2030, driven by growing demand for new ways to connect with live music.

ROE Visual, trusted for its role in acclaimed landmark productions such as ABBA Voyage, was selected to provide the visual backdrop for the showcase. ROE Visual’s Topaz TP1.5 panels were chosen for their outstanding image quality, colour consistency and precision, supporting the artistic vision and contributing to the sense of immersion for viewers. Working with Brompton Technology LED processing, the screen delivers vibrant and accurate visuals throughout the performance.

“We are delighted to play a role in such an innovative and creative project. Our aim is always to provide products that offer the highest quality and accuracy, giving creative teams the confidence that what they imagine can be realized on screen,” comments Jonathan Sheard, Managing Director at ROE Visual UK. "It has been inspiring to collaborate with Unit1 Studio and contribute to a new chapter in music entertainment."
The KT Tunstall showcase, produced in partnership Woodroffe Bassett Design, Brompton Technology, and ROE Visual, celebrates the 20th anniversary of the artist’s acclaimed album Eye to the Telescope. It also marks a significant step forward in the evolution of avatar-based live entertainment, one that bridges the worlds of music performance and virtual experience.

Barney Wragg, CEO of Unit 1 Studio, said: “There are so many concerts I wish I could have seen but never had the opportunity to experience live. Elton at the Troubadour, Queen at Live Aid, Hendrix at Woodstock, or The Beatles at The Cavern. We are raising the bar in avatar and stage technology to immerse audiences in the embodiment of those moments and transport fans into a world with the artists they love. Critically, we can now do this at a price point that makes commercial sense for the industry. Our goal is to wow audiences, stay true to the artist and their music, and help realize the immense potential in this new form of entertainment.”
Jonathan Butterell, Creative Director said: “At Unit1, we support artists and their long-trusted creative teams to step fully into a world full of new potential. We are creating the space and platforms for the artists and their teams to work with us to create thrilling concert experiences that harness these new technologies and make lasting memories for fans both new and old.”
