CPL Puts Acquired Gear to Work for Tropic Skincare GALA

Leek, The Netherlands (1 November 2018) - CPL has made use of its newly acquired ROE Visual gear for a large motivational event and gala dinner for Tropic Skincare in the NEC, Birmingham UK. Commissioned by show producers Pandora Events, CPL supplied full technical production, including a hi-impact video design, equipment and crew for this event.

CPL's project manager Mike Radford working with Lee Gruszeckyj and Karl Johnstone composed a slick, stylish contemporary stage and screen design based on the client's brief, which utilized over 200 panels of the company's new ROE Visual Carbon series CB5 LED screen product. So new that it had only been delivered to the warehouse the previous day.

Three onstage LED screens were flanked by two IMAG screens, creating an impressive widescreen look. The central screen was made up of two pieces – an arch with a central cut-out panel, which acted as artist entrance and exit. Just above the edge of the stage, a 9-metre diameter circular screen was suspended, which added depth, drama and a 3D feel to the space.

CPL supplied one of their disguise 4×4 media servers, which was programmed with playback content supplied by the client. A Barco E2 Event Master processor was used for system processing and screen management. CPL's camera director for the event was Karl Johnstone, Lee Moore was the E2 operator, and George Oakey coordinated and ran all the keynote PowerPoint presentations.

The challenge was getting the substantial amount of equipment in, rigged and ready on time for this one-day event. Quite a brain-teaser for the CPL team. Using their new ROE Visual LED screens, combined with the Air Frame support systems helped the speed of the onsite build, which was extremely fast for all the video elements. The Air Frame provides a convenient super lightweight all-in-one hanging, stacking and transportation solution designed for maximum efficiency in all production scenarios.

Mike comments, “It was a fantastic project to work on. We enjoyed great rapport with the team from Pandora Events and the client was really committed to having good production values and presenting a spectacular looking and memorable experience.”CPL Puts Acquired Gear to Work for Tropic Skincare GALAPhotography: Ben Daure
