ROE Visual Selected by NIPA XR Studio Expansion

Shenzhen, China (December 2023) ROE Visual is proud to announce that a collaboration between ARK ventures resulted in a further expansion of the NIPA KOVAC XR STAGE, making ROE Visuals LED technology an essential investment. This cutting-edge studio, equipped with ROE Visual panels showcases NIPA's ongoing commitment to pioneering ICVFX and XR technologies in South Korea.

The NIPA (National IT Industry Promotion Agency) collaborated again with ARK Ventures, a South Korean company with extensive experience in providing virtual production solutions, for this studio located at the South Korean VR AR Complex (KoVAC) in Mapo-gu, Seoul.

With virtual production technology quickly gaining ground in film production, NIPA is actively venturing into virtual production to strengthen South Korea's information and communications technology industry and bolster its global competitiveness. Starting as a relatively modest studio, the NIPA KOVAC XR STAGE has become pivotal in various sectors, including advertising, film production, and education.

Drawing on their rich track record of achievements, NIPA once again chose ROE Visual's popular products, BP2V2 and CB5L MKII, to maintain the high standards of virtual production. One key factor in the decision was its excellent on-camera behavior, resulting in great lens expressiveness.

This latest expansion includes equipment from industry-leading suppliers. ROE Visual provided 384 BP2V2 panels, 224 BM4 panels, and 49 CB5L MKII panels running on Brompton LED processors. A Disguise virtual rendering system powers the LED volume, while ARRI supplies all lighting equipment.

With a well-planned blend of XR and ICVFX capabilities, NIPA's highly skilled creative and technical teams have seamlessly integrated these resources, successfully turning NIPA KOVAC XR STAGE into South Korea's most advanced integrated studio.

Lee Jin Seo, NIPA Deputy Director

"I believe that featuring globally recognized products in our expanded NIPA studio will yield significant results for South Korea's virtual production industry," says Lee Jin Seo, Deputy Director of NIPA.

"Working with NIPA has been an excellent journey for us. Over the past two years, our collaboration has evolved into a close strategic partnership driven by a profound understanding of each other's objectives. With a forward-thinking approach, we are confident that, together with NIPA, we can achieve further breakthroughs and explore new dimensions within the immersive digital world," states David, representative of ARK Ventures.
