Partnering with Creative Technology to deliver a high-performance, ST 2110-native visual ecosystem in Vienna for hundreds of millions of global viewers.

ROE Visual’s industry-leading LED technology formed the structural and creative backbone of the iconic event's stage architecture that brought an unparalleled visual experience to 95,000 live arena fans across nine sold-out shows and hundreds of millions of television viewers worldwide.

A production of this monumental scale is never a solo effort; it represents a masterful synergy between world-class hardware and exceptional on-site collaboration. Working hand-in-hand with long-term partner Creative Technology (CT), which brought together a talented, diverse crew from multiple European offices, ROE Visual delivered the scalable, premium display solutions required to transform the ambitious creative intent of each performing nation into flawless broadcast reality.

Crafting A Premium Canvas Of 49 Million Pixels for ESC
With each country's delegation demanding total creative control and distinct visual environments, the technical architecture required a flexible digital ecosystem built for absolute reliability and superb on-camera performance. CT deployed and operated approximately 500 square meters of ROE Visual LED panels, generating over 49 million pixels of pristine content. The engineered setup seamlessly blended two distinct ROE Visual product series into a unified visual environment:

ROE Visual Graphite (2.6mm): The Graphite series offered a brilliant, high-contrast canvas. Its lightweight structural mechanics allowed designers to switch dynamically between deep, atmospheric lighting environments and vibrant, high-energy graphics. The massive vertical backdrop turning into a custom seamless curved “infinity screen”.

ROE Visual Black Marble (BM4.6): The active stage floor required rugged durability to withstand intense choreography, tracking heavy props, and rapid scenic turnarounds. The Black Marble LED panels delivered structural resilience without compromising deep black levels, rich colors, or wide viewing angles necessary for broadcast cameras.

By engineering to connect the horizontal Black Marble floor with the vertical Graphite backdrop, traditional stage boundaries were eliminated. Content flowed organically across the surfaces, providing unprecedented depth for the performers.

To ensure frame-accurate, synchronized playback across these complex surfaces, the CT tech team integrated the system with 16 Megapixel Helios 8K LED controllers alongside eight Disguise servers handling 32 simultaneous redundant 4K outputs. The synergy between Helios processing and ROE Visual panels guaranteed a pixel-perfect broadcast from the initial technical rehearsals through to the live grand final.

Pioneering the Future with the Broadcast Signal Standard ST 2110 Native Workflow
Beyond its physical scale, Eurovision 2026 represents a massive technological step forward for the broadcast industry by executing a shift to a fully ST 2110-native workflow. By deploying an infrastructure that entirely removed traditional baseband signal distribution, the technical team established a milestone in modern IP-native event production. "What we’ve done here is different. All signal distribution runs natively over ST 2110, from media servers to screens. There are no SDI or HDMI, and no conversion. At this scale, that’s unique, " states Karl Wigenius, Head of Video at CT Sweden and Product Manager for Eurovision 2026

The highly resilient infrastructure, developed over three years, operated on a fully redundant 100GB network utilizing Arista and Netgear AV switches to route approximately 4.2 terabytes of data per second. ROEVisual’s seamless compatibility within this high-throughput IP ecosystem proves that its display architectures are built to drive the future of live television and IP broadcast workflows.

Overcoming Rigorous Production Pressures and Handling Rapid Scene Changes
The pressure of the Eurovision environment is defined by rapid, high-stakes choreography. Crew members on site were faced with a strict 42-second window to completely transform the appearance of the stage between competing performances. ROE Visual's signature quick-lock system and stable electronic infrastructure gave the technical team the confidence to execute these transitions flawlessly. The core video infrastructure remained perfectly stable even when integrating specialized custom elements for individual delegations, such as Malta’s 36 square meters of Muxwave F3 holographic LED or Latvia’s mapped projection using a Panasonic RQ35 laser projector.
Furthermore, Vienna 2026 introduced the extensive deployment of rolling shutter cameras, introducing fresh challenges to LED screen synchronization. "That’s new at this scale. It changes how you approach synchronization between camera capture and LED playback," continues Karl Wigenius.

Leveraging high refresh rates, premium components, and advanced grayscale processing native to ROE Visual panels, the engineering teams successfully eliminated on-camera artifacts and moiré issues, securing pristine imagery for millions of screens worldwide as Bulgaria’s DARA claimed a historic first victory with "Bangaranga!"
